Brand

The mark, the colours, and what this project can and cannot grant you.

The mark

A lion, a goat, a dragon and a cobra, low-poly and lit cyan. It exists only as raster — there is no vector source, and the wordmark you see in headings is set in type rather than scaled from the logo file, because a 2241-pixel image is soft on any modern display above about 700 CSS pixels.

A vector of the mark is a real gap, tracked rather than hidden. Until it exists, use the PNGs below at or under their natural size, and never scale the wordmark image.

Files

  • icon.png

    icon.png 1254px

The mark on its navy plate — the app icon, and the safe choice at any size.

  • mark.png

    mark.png 1254px

The mark with the plate removed. Correct on a dark ground only: taking the navy out also took the dark facet lines inside the mane, which were the same colour. On a light background it looks moth-eaten, which is why the site always puts it on a disc.

  • logo-wide.png

    logo-wide.png 2241px

The horizontal lockup, mark and wordmark.

  • logo.png

    logo.png 1254px

    The stacked lockup.

Give the mark clear space of at least a quarter of its width on every side, do not recolour it, and do not place it on a busy photograph.

Colours

The site and the desktop app read the same tokens from the same file, so these are the product's colours, not an interpretation of them.

Using it

The code is Apache-2.0, and that licence grants no trademark rights — section 6 says so explicitly. In practice: writing about Chimera, linking to it, and showing the mark to refer to the project are all fine. Putting the mark on something that is not this project, or on a product that suggests endorsement, is not, and there is no trademark policy to point you at yet.
